Job Well Done!

Thank you all for that vote of confidence!

http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1640510.html

We can certainly amuse ourselves with dreams of world domination, right?

So, speaking of world domination, what's new with all of you?

Congrats!
same as usual - busy. Trying to get a story written for a special submission call and am highly nervous about it. Other than that, recovering and starting PT tomorrow - yuck. Though I do have a ton of story related questions for my PT person lol.

I love to see you pushing these writing boundaries.

And the fact that you can turn PT into research and development is all the better. :-)

Woohoo! Now let's start casting! ;-)

Adrien's been talked about a lot (although my own suggestion is Ben Whishaw, whom I haven't seen discussed, though he may be a little young), but who do you picture for Jake...and while we're at it, Kit and JX?

I'm so bad at this! :-D

Everyone I like ages out of the running. I think that's why I enjoy everyone else's candidates so much. I don't watch enough TV or see enough movies to know who's out there.

I do have a tan! A light tan because I really don't want skin cancer. I've been doing a lot of swimming and reading and gardening.

And I've been thinking a lot about writing and stories, although not much happneing in the way of actual productivity. But I've stopped worrying about that.

Beyond that...it's been pretty quiet. No great adventures and (happily) no big dramas.

Editing like a loon for something I need to finish mid July. Oh and I'm reading A Dangerous Thing right now. Jake is driving me nuts - as I'm sre was your intention. I said on Goodreads the other day that every time he calls Adrien "baby" I want to slap him silly. Then he called him that when Adrien was driving him to the hospital after he got nicked by a bullet and suddenly that time it was really sweet. You fiend! How do you do that?!

Beats me.

That Jake is just a cool -- sometimes ice cold -- cat. :-D

You're welcome! I'm waiting for the movie series though.

This evening I went to see a movie about older migrants torn between their home country and the country they've been living in the last 30 or so years. I know the movie director and many of the people who attended. After the movie there were some interesting meetings, multicultural food and copious wine.

I'm nor used anymore to drink wine and now I'm definitely not ready for world domination, sorry ;-)

Ciao

No contest really, J. Adrien's adventures would make one heck of a great movie. *nods* You should get on that bandwagon, hun.

Posting a link in my reads_n_reccs lj of those results.

Congratulations. (And like you, I am simply not up on current actors, and couldn't cast a movie to save my life.)

Mostly I've been making icons recently, which won't interest you. However, I have written a few ficlets/short stories for maryrenaultfics. All are based on The Charioteer; and, since I know how fond you are of the book, if you should be dying for a tiny read or two, they're at the bottom of this index page on my website.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Now if only someone who makes movies actually would turn it into a movie.

What's new with me? Well, I've just finished up the first round of edits for my Pros big bang story. ;) But other than that, same old same old. My life is so boring - I write so that something happens for someone. *g*

I have a theory: the duller the life, the better the art.

whats new with some of us out here?well,I just finished one of your books on kindle a friend recommended and found this place for one.I'm also on the hunt for betas in general(great minds tend to condense,so here would not be a bad place to look for more).
Just got back from playing RPG's with a large group that meets at an agreed on location until early the next morning.Even though it has grown to a large sized, multi layered group long before me and my roommate ever found it,I'm still the only girl participating.
Gaming requires a lot of on the fly improvisation and working around other characters already established stories/situations.I don't understand why many more women don't also RPG on the side, since I've personally met several women authors and that style of gaming vs writing excersizes the same levels of thought process and quickly gets someone used to being creative quickly.(looks around the page)I see what appears to be several women here,so what is your take on it all?

I'm not familiar enough with gaming and RPG to really answer that, although I would speculate it has to do with control and interaction.

Writing is about total control (of every single element) and interaction is pretty much nil. On one level the writer (or certain writers) may be vaguely aware of readers, even reviewers, but writing is a solitary occupation. And while it is occasionally (while one is not writing) a lonely business, most of the time that's one of the things that attracts the writer brain.

How's that for an off-the-cuff theory?

Last but not least (hopefully)
Ups, seems I'm a tad late....The sun is finally shining so the mood is good. I started RPG as well (last weekend) after 10 years of absence. Gaming is fun. Still a reader and not a writer. Finished a couple of paintings and there is always the music. My partner and I will go on a one week vacation starting tomorrow to visit friends and have a good time... and the garden looks like a jungle after several weeks of rain. So afterwards there's a lot of work waiting for me (yeah .. cause it is MY garden). I think he doesn't so much mind to operate the barbecue and entertain the grapevine snails... Another Adrien and Jake story would be lovely but still one of my favorite is the Darkling Thrush.

That little book has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity since I republished it!

You sound healthy and happy. :-)
