Ah Chihuahua!

Finished my piece of Mexican Heat and sent that off to our fearless editor. We'll see how that goes. Put together a proposal for a new romantic comedy / erotic mystery novel -- about 30,000 words in so far -- and mailed that off to publishers. Somebody Killed His Editor -- and that title has nothing to do with sending Mexican Heat off for the next batch of brutal sla-- edits. This is lighter stuff than my usual fare -- I rarely try and write "funny," so I have no idea if it's any good or not. I planned it as a standalone, but hey, the comic possibilities are endless on this baby.

Anyway I needed a break in between Mexican Heat and Out of the Blue -- which I start today in earnest. I've been reading a lot of WWI history and poetry in an effort to drive myself to suicide prepare for my novella in Esprit de Corps (due out sometime this fall we're hoping). If you're interested in WWI, I recommend WWI in Color. It's fascinating. Until I began watching it, I hadn't realized how the black and white footage that we always see served to give that particular war an almost distanced, fairytale quality. Kenneth Brannagh narrates a very well done overview of the conflict.

And that's about it for me. Oh, FINALLY finished Ginn Hale's Wicked Gentlemen last night. As I feared, once I started reading I wouldn't be able to stop, and this was indeed the case. I read straight through -- and enjoyed it enormously. I've got a whole stack of books (print and ebook) to get through this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it after such a long stretch with no time to read. Next up is Vince Diamond's Rough Cut. Another one I'm highly anticipating.
