The Montly Round Up

First the big news. The edited and expanded (by about ten thousand words) of The Haunted Heart: Winter is now available for sale at all the usual places: Amazon, BarnesandNoble, Smashwords, All Romance Ebooks.

Still grieving over the sudden death of his lover, antiques dealer Flynn Ambrose moves to the old, ramshackle house on Pitch Pine Lane to catalog and sell the large inventory of arcane and oddball items that once filled his late uncle's mysterious museum.
But not all the items are that easy to catalog. Or get rid of...

The Haunted Heart series. Four seasons. Four ghosts. Two hearts.

Winter. Since Alan died, Flynn isn't eating, isn't sleeping, and isn't spending a lot of time looking in mirrors. But maybe he should pay a little more attention — because something in that 18th Century mirror is looking at him.

Also, I gave into the pressure to make the short story "In Plain Sight" available in digital. This too can now be purchased through Amazon, BarnesandNoble Smashwords, All Romance Ebooks.

The audio books are proceeding apace, as we say. The short story anthology In Sunshine or In Shadow (which has four, count 'em four, narrators trading off) should be avaialable for sale by the middle of September. Meanwhile, In From the Cold is two thirds complete and Armed and Dangerous is halfway done. You can read an interview with Adrian Bisson at my blog.

(I'm really, really happy with the way these audio books are turning out, and I hope you will be too.)

And finally on the audio book front, I've just contracted Sean Crisden to narrate The Dickens With Love, which should be ready in time for Christmas.

Next up is a short story called The Parting Glass. This is a sequel to "In a Dark Wood." And then we're probably looking at Kick Start, the fifth Dangerous Ground novella. Either Kick Start or Boy with the Painful Tattoo, but either way BWTPT won't be out until the end of the year because of the formatting, editing, etc. But both these books ARE in the works. Don't let anyone tell you different.

So I think that's everything. I had a terrific vacation but it seems like such a long time ago. What are you all up to? Can you believe Summer is nearly past?

I hope so! It's so tricky matching voices to the story. I'm excited though.

If *you* hear the character, then I am pretty sure that we, your readers, will as well. We trust you.

That's a lot of new stuff in The Haunted Heart :) Will add it to my ARe shopping list

How goes the writing of Winter Kill?

Winter Kill looks to be a mid-2014 project. I got a little ahead of myself with that one. Actually I got a little carried away planning out this year. For some reason I thought I could write every single idea that I felt enthusiasm for in one year. It turns out...not so much.

That's OK, as long as it hasn't been abandoned, that would make me really sad
Thanks for the update

Definitely not abandoned!

Bought 'In Plain Sight' but I must try not to read it until I've finished work. I'm half way through 'Haunted Heart' and finding it just as scary as the serial version, even though I know what happens!

Oh! That's such a compliment. I'm delighted to hear it.

Congratulations on all the big news! Yup, another summer flew by and yet another semester has begun. Enjoy the last days of August, Josh.

I shall do my best. I'm committed to swimming every single day because I know I am really going to miss it during the winter.

I'm on the edge of my seat for The Boy with the Painful Tattoo!

It is indeed coming. Word by word, sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph. ;-)

Given our current heat wave, it feels like summer is just starting. I wouldn't mind the heat so much if it weren't for the humidity. Yuck.

Loved Haunted Heart and hope to get to "In Plain Sight" this weekend. I'm looking forward to your next releases. The end of the year can't get here soon enough.

Thank you for the kind words!

Yes, I think we've still got plenty of hot weather ahead. In fact, sometimes our September is hotter than our July, so we won't be putting the pool away for a few weeks.

Can't wait to start reading the complete version of Haunted Heart!

If it means anything, I completely don't feel like it was a rash decision to immediately go buy the ebook, because I've already read the perfect sized 'sample' on WP.

Look at that amazing load...I salute your sheer will and determination.

Ha! Thank you. I do remain eternally optimistic about how much I can get done in a limited amount of time. :-D

I'm glad to hear that you had a great vacation and am looking forward to your new projects.
Summer went by very quickly, didn't it? (But it was beautiful - at least here in europe. I went to London on vacation for a week and the weather was so good that people who see the photos can't believe it: blue skies and sunshine all around, no rain! ^_^ )
Have a nice autumn and best wishes for your work!

Oh! It sounds like you did have terrific weather for London. Happy Autumn to you as well!

Oh geez, is it October already?! Why has 2013 been flying by?

Hard to believe, I know!
