 And, by the way, I better not ever find you using a question mark and exclamation point together except in jest. 

Yes, I'm feeling better. I now have my voice back -- and can begin shooting my mouth off again. 

Nikki Kimberling  kimnik  winds up our week-long writing discussion with our final observations on her poisoned prose right here. 

An interesting -- and amusing -- experiment for the Nikster and I. Hopefully you all found it of value as well.

          Aren't you cute. You don't need to pimp stuff here that has nothing to do with Josh Lanyon. Now you want to put up a link for that review of Tree Smexin and Rhys..that's the ticket.

  I was SURE The Elements of Style said it was OK to use a question mark and exclamation point together in my writing. Are you saying I have been doing this all wrong?! I learn something new every day from you Dr. Lanyon.

    I think it's obvious by now that the book's never coming out. It's been one excuse after another: my wrist hurts; I have a cold; there's a malevolent ground squirrel on my lawn; blah, blah, blah. Just give up and find something else to read, that's my advice.

      I get the sense that you're even more anxious than I am to read the damn book. I even have the sense that you're somewhat annoyed at dear author who we know is trying his best - after all he has had various ailments which he is trying to work through. Hopefully his constitution will be strong enough for him to pull this needle through the eye of a camel or is the other way around? All I know is, this waiting is getting on my last nerve.

        Dang. I may need to report him for animal abuse -- a needle through the eye of a camel? Although it sounds a bit easier than the Biblical method. Then again, his wrists are not up to needling.

        Egad that sounds so ... messy!
        
        I always write from beginning to end. Though sometimes if my plot takes too many hairpin turns I have to go back and move this or that at the beginning...

  And still, I will probably use both the ?! and spurious capitalization. I don't know. Sometimes a woman just has to GO THERE. I prefer italics for emphasis, but when referring to something like the civil war as the Late Great Unpleasantness, well. You get your money's worth from a few capitalizations.
  
  We're not supposed to eat butter either, but I ignore that as well. There are just some things where I'm sure the doctor is right, but I can't follow advice...
  
  I'm sure I will be typing my ?!'s from the hospital room even as they are preparing to Crack Open My Chest.
  
  The weather continues fine. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
  
  (BTW Lisabea? On you ?! is a fashion accessory and you should wear it often.)

  Yesterday I met a young men in a bookstore who looked a lot like you on the picture (just with a white hat and of course he is german). I could not resist to chat a little. It was very interesting and funny to talk about literature and places to go. Reading your books seems to be very fruitful :-). I hope you will stay fine!
